Injury Update - J-Bay Open

Last updated July 4, 2016 by Dave

Here is the wildcard and injury replacement info for the WSL Mens J-Bay Open 2016 (6-17th July)

JBay colour coded draw

Owen Wright & Bede Durbidge – OUT

Both still out for another event, and still being replaced by Stu Kennedy and Sebastien Zietz. Both Stu and Seabass have had moments to shine during the 2016 season, we’re hoping they can keep the fires stoked and continue to earn their stripes on the CT. Jeffreys could be just the place for an electric natural footer to shine again.

Taj Burrow – OUT

The party is really over this time, Taj has definitely retired. For the remainder of 2016 he will be replaced by Adam Melling

Joel Parkinson – IN

You’d better stay tuned for more info on this, but officially Parko is ready for battle. And thats great, because Parko and J-Bay are like cheese and macaroni.

Dusty Payne –IN

Dusty is getting some mileage out of 2016. If he can combine his formidable speed, power and flow with the Supers rhythm, it could be a beautiful thing to watch.

Steven Sawyer –IN

Local goofy-footed trials winner, earns a shot at the J-Bay Open title.

~ UPDATE ~

Mick Fanning is officially INthe draw for J-Bay……..however! With plentyof rumours circulating about Mick’s recent ankle injury, some saying it is worse than many realise, we recommend using caution when deciding to put him on your fantasy starting line.

Of course, we all want Mick on our team. There are few who surf J-Bay better. But if he goes down in Round 2, don’t say we didn’t warn you…
